The Great Dictator with Timothy Brock and the Orchestre National de Lille
Le Dictateur est un film visionnaire. Sorti en 1940, le premier long métrage parlant de Charlie Chaplin est un bouleversant appel à la paix. Chaplin y interprète le double rôle d’un humble barbier juif ainsi que d’un certain despote à fine moustache nommé Hynkel, qui rappelle furieusement un certain dirigeant nazi. La scène du dictateur jouant avec un globe terrestre ou le sublime discours final sont quelques-unes des scènes mythiques de ce film dont la belle musique signée par Chaplin lui-même sera jouée en direct et dirigée par Timothy Brock.
